SUNDAY-FUN-DAY

Saturday is going to be an engaging day - loaded with activities in one of Norway's most spectacular nature reserve. We kick-off the day with yoga, before we swing over to freediving, scuba diving, kayaking or coasteering. You choose beforehand which activity you join in.

After a long and active session in the sear we invite you for a good lunch. In the afternoon we gather again to listen to personal stories and presentations. In the evening we boost the mood with music, food and socializing.

FREEDIVING

If freediving or snorkel-safari, Runde offers a spot for everyone and every interest; large kelp forest, deep trenches, bridges, stones, caves and long gone shipwrecks.
Join us on one breath and explore what Runde has to offer underwater.
Diving spots are reached by boat and will be chosen according to weather conditions and sea state.

Equipment required:
Diving suit, ABC-equipment, weight belt.
A freshwater cleaning station will be provided at the Environmental Centre.

Trainings or certificates:
No certificates required, but you have to have experience in freediving, snorkeling or diving in the sea.

SCUBA DIVING

The Island of Runde offers significant possibilities to explore with a tank filled with air.
Akerendam, Arisan, caves under the bird cliff, "Grasøyane" rift, gaps, kelp forest are just a few highlights and possibilities to explore the underwater world around the island.
Diving spots are reached by boat and will be chosen according to weather conditions and sea state.

Equipment required:
Dykkardrakt, ABC-utstyr, pustar, BCD, regulator, «octopus», 2 tankar. Trenger du luftpåfyll under opphaldet kan dette avtalast med Herøy Dykkerklubb (ekstra kostnad kan påløpe).

Trainings or certificates:
Valid and active diving license, healthy to be able to dive.

COASTEERING

Coasteering is a combination of climbing, swimming and optional cliff jumping. As you may have guessed from the name, this activities takes place in our coastal neighborhood.
Join our local guides to explore and discover the coastline of Runde. We walk together as a group and make our way along the tidal zone between the rocks and cliffs around the isle of birds.
This activity suits those who have experience in varying terrain, are comfortable in the water and are seek a challenge. We choose the route, based on the groups level of experience.

Equipment required:

Opplev Runde offers rental of adequate equipment. You need to have changing cloth, a pair of shoes suitable to get wet and a towel =)

SEAWEED SAFARI

During this activity, you will be exploring the tidal zone together with our experienced ecologist guide. Be surprised by the varied life forms in this unique environment and learn about how animals and plants interact and depend on each other in different ways.
You might even get inspired to forage some seaweed for the kitchen!
This tour is suitable for participants of all ages (3-93), and languages spoken include Norwegian and English.

Dress according to the weather. We advise hiking shoes or rubber boots, wind and/or rain jacket and some additional extra warm clothing.
